The song “Eyes Open” written and recorded by Taylor Swift,
is a amazing and meaningful song. It was
in the soundtrack for the movie the “hunger games”. I love this song, the lyrics, the theme, and
the tune. This song has so many behind
the scene detail that don’t come at first when you hear it. When I first heard
this song I just thought it was about the Huger Games and the main character
Katniss. But when you hear the lyrics over and over again, which I have done
before, you see that this song, in my opinion is about the struggle for some
warriors and soldiers. I don’t only mean the people who go out to war I mean
everyone/anyone who is facing their own struggle.
The song has many interesting verses but one that I found
one that stood out to me the most. “The tricky thing Is yesterday we were just
children Playing soldiers
Just pretending Dreaming dreams with happy endings In backyards, winning battles with our wooden swords But now we've stepped into a cruel world Where everybody stands and keeps score”
Just pretending Dreaming dreams with happy endings In backyards, winning battles with our wooden swords But now we've stepped into a cruel world Where everybody stands and keeps score”
I guess the reason it stood out to me was because of the
way that it linked it back to a childhood, not anyone's in particular but It
makes you think of the world before it was crazy and full of struggles.
I find this song interesting not only because of its catchy
tune but because it sparks a memory of something so peaceful to me and that
makes it even more interesting when she talks about struggles and being scared because
I can relate to the differences between my peace and struggles.
I agree with what you said about the world before it was full of struggles. In my opinion, all these struggles are created by ourselves. Life doesn't have to be so hard but unfortunately for some, it is, from problems they've created due to their own personal issues. Obviously, this doesn't apply to all but in general, there are a lot of people who don't see the problems that they've created that make this world not a better place but a more difficult one instead. Anyway, good post!
