The Three Billy Goats Gruff by Carolyn Quattrocki. One of my childhood favorites! This story is amazing and even in middle school still a good read! The main message of the story to kids is think ahead for the future for one day it will come in handy. But behind all of that it also shows a lot about bullying. To cross over the bridge the Billy Goats had to face the mighty big troll. In real life we don't have to face trolls we have to face bully's, mean, and rude people. But it's hard to just face a big bully, sometimes you can't just say STOP! It just doesn't work that way you have to be brave and open to crazy ideas.
In the book the goats decide to trick the troll by one by one saying "Don't eat me it's better to feast on my older brother then when Old Billy Goat Gruff crosses he takes the troll and swings him into the water never to be seen again. This you can't actually do, you don't just throw someone into a river. You think of better ideas to stop bullying.
This book is made to influence young children but in the end doesn't it teach all of us. Leave a response/comment with you opinion!!!
